Licence
Yours to use.
One purchase, one person, every machine you use, any project, commercial work included. You can read and change the code for yourself; you can't pass it on. Everything ADE writes into your projects is yours outright.
This is the full text that ships with every download as LICENSE. The software inside the download that others wrote keeps its own licences, listed on Credits.
Atlas ADE Personal Licence
Version 1, 27/10/2026
Atlas ADE ("the software") is sold at https://atlas-ade.dev ("we", "us"). This licence is the agreement between
us and you, the person who bought it. The software is not open source. Questions: [email protected].
1. What you may do
When you buy the software, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide licence to:
a. install and run the versions your purchase covers on any computers you yourself use;
b. use it for any project, personal or commercial, including work you do for clients and employers;
c. read and change its source code for your own use, and run your changed copy under these same terms.
Your purchase covers the version current when you bought it. Each 12 months of updates you buy also covers every
version released during those months. The licence for a version you are covered for does not end when your
updates do.
2. What you may not do
a. Copy, share, publish, sell, rent, sublicense or otherwise give the software, a changed copy of it, or a
download link to it, to anyone else.
b. Let other people use your copy. Each person who uses the software needs their own licence.
c. Offer the software, or a service that is substantially the software, to others over a network.
d. Remove or change this licence or the copyright and licence notices in the software.
3. Your work is yours
We claim nothing in your projects. Your code, your ade.toml, your records, and everything the software writes
into your projects (hooks, settings, generated files, records branches) belong to you, and you may use, share
and publish them however you like, with or without the software.
4. Other people's software
The download includes third-party software (such as Python and, on Windows, git), each under its own licence,
listed in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt. Those licences govern those components, and nothing in this licence limits the
rights they give you. The tools the software drives, such as Claude Code and Codex, are not part of it; you
install them yourself under their own terms.
5. Ending the licence
If you break section 2, this licence ends automatically and you must delete your copies. Otherwise it lasts
forever.
6. No warranty, and limits on liability
The software is provided "as is". It runs AI coding agents that change files and run commands on your
computer, and you are responsible for how you configure and use it and for keeping backups of your work. To the
extent the law allows, we give no warranties, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid
us for the software. Nothing in this licence limits or excludes any liability or right that cannot be limited or
excluded by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
7. Law
This licence is governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction,
without affecting any right you have as a consumer to bring proceedings where you live.
